2. Parishioners Open Session

Mr and Mrs Salem, neighbours to Clare Cottage highlighted their concerns. They have written to Huntingdon District Council and provided the Parish Council with a copy of their letter. They have three main concerns: (1) Care to be taken with the footings and new driveway to ensure no interference with roots of trees. (2) The height of garage is significantly higher than adjacent buildings. (3) Concern regarding south facing windows which would overlook their garden.

Ms Randall, of Clare Cottage explained that the original design was at the instigation of the Conservation Officer who changed the shape of the house roof to provide an extra bedroom with no storage, also that the size of the garage should have been increased then but due to time pressure it was overlooked.

. To Consider the Following Planning Applications:

a. Application Ref: 0801823FUL – Clare Cottage, The Green ,Hilton - Erection of Garage and Store. The Parish Council recommend approval with reservations. Drawing attention to Mr and Mrs Salem’s letter and to any supporting letter from Dr Randall. The Parish Council supported concern regarding damage to roots of trees bordering the property. The parish council thought frosted glass could be used on the south facing windows to minimise view to neighbouring garden. Finally, the Parish council ask that Huntingdon District Council give consideration to the height of the new building in relation to neighbouring properties.
