Previous Initiatives
There have been a number of past attempts to improve safety and remove the scourge of large lorries.
On speed limits, the B1040 speed limit was reduced from 40 mph to 30mph, and a new 40 mph was introduced across the Green.
Gateways at south and north of B1040 were introduced, with a an island in centre of village to assist pedestrians.
When these measures proved unsuccessful, further money was found to provide red surface warning strips, 30 mph white circles on the road and flashing 30 mph speed warning detecting signs.
