Parish Council Report:  May 2007:

Hilton

Play ParkThe surface of the Play Park has deteriorated over recent months.  A number of potential tripping hazards have appeared between the edge of the floor tiles and the grassed areas.  In addition, the build up of aglae has returned and has made the surface of the tiles very slippery when wet.  The Parish Council has decided therefore, that the park should be closed until these problems have been rectified.  The Council also agreed that a long-term solution to improve the surface was required, and work to achieve this has started.

Parish Council Vacancy.  The Parish Council was pleased to receive an application to fill a vacancy on the Parish Council from Mr Cameron Adams of Potton Road.  Mr Adam's application was approved by the Council and Mr Adams was expected to take up his duties at the 4 June 2007 meeting of the Council.

Date of Village Annual Meeting.  The Village Annual Meeting will be held on 30 May.  All residents are welcome.  This year, in addition to the Council's normal annual report of its business, Lorna Groundsell from "Young Lives" will give a short presentation on the PARC project and the progress made by the young people of the village

Planning.  The Parish Council recommended that the application for internal changes to 22 Potton Road be approved.

PARC Project.  A further plea is made for residents to help run the PARC programme which is aimed at the development of the young people from Hilton.  If any residents are interested in giving up some of their time to help this successful project then they are asked to contact Cllr Shardlow on 01480 831186
